Praising God through a rich musical heritage

Since its inception in 1972, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd's congregation has been blessed with an outstanding tradition of music and leadership.

Our music leadership has a rich history of reaching out and incorporating many styles of instrumentation that have enhanced and energized the  worship service. Before retiring in January 2018, the Reverend Marilyn Witte served for 16 years as the church’s Cantor. Her talent, dedication and spirit will remain an inspiration, forever reminding us that God often speaks to us through music as well as scripture. Our current Cantor, Mr. Christopher Prestia, joined the Good Shepherd family in summer 2018 and delivers impactful music during our weekly worship and beyond. The strong tradition of rich and well-done musical performances echo in the nave regularly!

Dobson Pipe Organ

Our 27-rank pipe organ is the centerpiece of our music program. It was crafted and installed in 2006 by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, the same builders as Philadelphia's Kimmel Center organ. Its unique design alone qualifies it as a work of art. Just wait until you hear it!

 Fine Arts on Greenfield

Good Shepherd's Fine Arts on Greenfield has been filling the hearts and stirring the imagination of both young and old for more than three decades. These free-to-the-public programs celebrate both sacred and secular music through the festive flavor of local children's choirs to the often powerful and always moving classical chamber music and organ recitals.  Click here to learn more.

Various music programs are carefully researched and brought to Good Shepherd every year for the cultural enjoyment and spiritual enrichment of the community.
